The TR8253/TR8211 series is an EtherCAT slave control chip that integrates the ESCcore module authorized by Beckhoff Automation. It supports 2/3-port EtherCAT communication and is used to process EtherCAT data frames.
TR8253/TR8211 provides two data interfaces, namely HBI interface and SPI Slave interface, which can be used to connect to external MCU/DSP to support EtherCAT functions.
The TR8253/TR8211 supports a wide range of applications. For example, it can be used as a 16/32-bit digital I/O node without external logic, using distributed clocks, or as part of a controller design with up to three EtherCAT communication ports.
TR8253 integrates two 100M Fast Ethernet current-mode PHYs, supporting 100Mbps full-duplex and HP auto MDIX functions. It can also connect to an external PHY via MII to support three-port applications.
