On July 1, 2023, the 2023 International Star Flash Wireless Short-Range Communication Alliance Launch Summit was successfully held in Shenzhen. More than 300 people, including leaders from Shenzhen, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, members of the Star Flash Alliance Council, and representatives of all member units of the Star Flash Alliance, attended the summit. During the summit, the International Star Flash Wireless Short-Range Communication Alliance Launch Ceremony was held, and the Star Flash chip, development board and the first batch of Star Flash test instruments were officially released.
Xiao Han, Director of the Standard Innovation Management Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation, attended the summit and delivered a speech. Director Xiao pointed out that the establishment of the International Star Flash Wireless Short-Range Communication Alliance is of milestone significance, and the wireless short-range communication industry will embark on a new journey. Director Xiao made three suggestions for the subsequent development of the Star Flash Alliance: first, adhere to consultation, co-construction and sharing; second, maintain openness and inclusiveness; third, actively carry out international standardization cooperation.

Director Xu pointed out that wireless short-range communication technology is one of the core technologies supporting the Internet of Everything. The International Star Flash Wireless Short-Range Communication Alliance officially obtained the registration certificate of the corporate legal person and landed in Shenzhen, which is of great significance to the entire industry.
Yu Xiquan, Director of Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, attended the summit and delivered a speech. Director Yu said that the Star Alliance is the second international industry and standards organization to settle in Shenzhen. Shenzhen will spare no effort to promote the widespread application of Star Alliance technology in smart cars, smart homes, smart terminals and smart manufacturing. The Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology will continue to provide intimate services to international organizations such as the Star Alliance, helping the Star Alliance to establish itself in Shenzhen, radiate across the country, and go global.

Wu Hequan, Director of the Expert Committee of the Star Flash Alliance and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, introduced three trends in the development of wireless short-range communication technology. The first is from best effort communication to quality assurance (SLA) communication, the second is from pure wireless communication to wireless-based multi-mode concurrency (communication positioning perception integration), and the third is from a closed-loop ecosystem to an open docking ecosystem for various applications. Academician Wu believes that the new development trend provides direction for Star Flash technology innovation and industrial development, and recommends that the alliance focus on promoting the commercialization of the advantages of Star Flash 1.0 in the next year, accelerating the implementation of the Star Flash test and certification system, and doing a good job in Star Flash frequency research.

The release of the series of SparkLink test instruments marks that the SparkLink test and certification system has entered the actual implementation stage, which can not only ensure the consistency and interoperability of SparkLink products, but also ensure that SparkLink products meet performance requirements.
Wang Yan, leader of the SparkLink Alliance Security Working Group, director of the Product Safety Institute of the China National Institute of Standardization/director of the Defective Product Management Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation, released the latest white paper results of the alliance, "SparkLink Wireless Short-Range Communication Technology (SparkLink 1.0) Security White Paper - Network Security", and representatives of the core participating units of the white paper came on stage to jointly release it. The white paper was officially launched in March 2022 and took nearly a year to complete. Currently, the white paper first outputs the cybersecurity part, and the functional safety part will be completed this year. The white paper includes five parts: typical application scenarioses of Star Flash technology, cybersecurity threats, cybersecurity needs, Star Flash 1.0 cybersecurity technology, and summary and outlook. The whole is led by the Security Working Group and compiled by 17 member units. The release of the white paper will help the industry strengthen its effective response to cybersecurity threats and provide security guarantees for the industrial implementation of Star Flash technology.
Zhang Mingyuan, director of the Wireless Business Department of the National Radio Monitoring Center Testing Center, introduced the National Radio Management Regulations and the specific management regulations for radio transmission equipment in the 2400MHz, 5100MHz and 5800MHz frequency bands, and provided guidance and suggestions on how the new generation of Xingshan wireless short-range communication equipment can meet the model approval management regulations.
Wang Zhiwei, leader of the Star Flash Alliance Test and Certification Working Group and deputy director of the IoT Technology Department of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology Telecommunication Terminal Laboratory, introduced the Star Flash test and certification system. The Star Flash Alliance has released the Star Flash test and certification system documents and the Star Flash technology series test specifications, and is carrying out the substantive implementation of the Star Flash test and certification system according to the 2023 plan, including test instrument verification and optimization, reference laboratory/test laboratory construction and evalsuation, chip and product protocol consistency testing, etc.
Yang Hong, leader of the Xingshan Alliance Demand and Standard Working Group and director of the Network Technology Research Office of the Internet of Things Research Center of the China Electronics Standardization Institute, introduced the Xingshan standards and ID system. The Xingshan 1.0 series of standards have been released and strongly supported the commercialization of Xingshan, and the phased evolution of the Xingshan 2.0 standard is underway. To ensure interoperability, the Xingshan ID needs to be uniformly designed and allocated, including the manufacturer ID (Company ID), the media access layer ID (Layer2 ID), the Xingshan member service universal unique identifier (UUID-SLMS) and the business ID (AID). The Star Alliance has completed the Star ID process, and the alliance website will add an "Identification Registration and Allocations" section and go online in July.
Zhou Xiaobing, director of the Star Alliance OpenLab, introduced the Star Alliance industry promotion plan. The Star Alliance will gradually move from standard setting and industrial chain construction to ecological incubation, helping Star to achieve 1-N sailing. Ecological incubation will focus on developer kit building, developer empowerment, multi-dimensional industry promotion and marketing, Star Innovation Competition and other dimensions, and promote the replication of Star OpenLab capabilities to support the commercial implementation of the advantages and features of Star 1.0.
